Free, referral-based networking community brings together entrepreneurs, organizations, and community leaders from across Wayne County on October 1 in Richmond

RICHMOND, IN, UNITED STATES, September 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Business owners, nonprofit leaders, community organizations, and entrepreneurs from throughout Wayne County are invited to connect, build relationships, exchange referrals, and increase their local visibility at the next Wayne County Networking meeting on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The free networking meeting will take place from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Best Western Conference Hall, 533 W Eaton Pike, Richmond, Indiana 47374.

While Richmond serves as the group's central meeting location, Wayne County Networking is designed to bring together people and organizations from throughout the county -- including Winchester, Liberty, Cambridge City, Centerville, Hagerstown, Fountain City, and Economy -- along with surrounding communities.

Wayne County Networking was created around a simple idea: local businesses and organizations should know one another, support one another, and make it easier for residents to find the resources they need. The group's guiding philosophy is summed up in three words: Found. Known. Referred.

"Networking shouldn't end when you exchange business cards or leave a meeting," said Dennis Alejo, founder and coordinator of Wayne County Networking. "We want to create meaningful relationships between business owners and community organizations -- and then help those relationships continue through referrals, online visibility, and ongoing collaboration."

Membership in Wayne County Networking is free and open to business owners, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, community organizations, and other local leaders. Members can receive opportunities including:

-- A monthly member spotlight, introducing a business or organization to the networking community
-- A featured article and backlink, highlighting the member's work and providing additional online visibility

Wayne County Networking welcomes more than traditional business-to-business networking. Community organizations, nonprofit leaders, churches, service providers, entrepreneurs, and local businesses all have a role to play in a connected community. A local business may know where to send someone looking for a service. A nonprofit may know where a family can find assistance. A community organization may need a local business partner. An entrepreneur may be looking for someone with a skill or resource they don't have. Networking creates the relationships that make those connections possible.

The October meeting will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at the Best Western Conference Hall, 533 W Eaton Pike, Richmond, IN 47374. Seating is intentionally limited to 30 attendees to keep the group personal and encourage meaningful conversations. The group normally meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. Meeting dates may occasionally change because of holidays or scheduling conflicts, so attendees are encouraged to check the online event calendar for the latest information.

"We want someone in Centerville to know a business owner in Richmond. We want a nonprofit in Hagerstown to know who they can call in Cambridge City. We want entrepreneurs in Winchester and Liberty to have relationships with people they might never otherwise meet," Alejo said.
